Communication Differences Between Men and Women

I spoke with a psychiatrist once and was explaining to her how I can talk all day long with my girlfriend and she would seem so interested, but my husband doesn't give me the same feedback. She explained that her husband does the same thing. She stated that she has to let him know that it won't take long (what she has to say) and to please allow her a few minutes to vent. She said that women can discuss any topic and can chat all day long before ever reaching a point. She stated that men do not listen nor talk the way we do. She said when she asks her husband to sit and talk with her all he hears is that he will have to sit and listen to his wife go on and on and on. That is the reason she tells him ahead of time that she won't take much of his time. She also added that things that interest a woman does not always interest a man. She told me that I have to understand that men and women communicate and listen differently. She added that men like for you to get straight to the point. They don't care to listen while you dance around a topic.
